The Never Ending Summer

The Never Ending Summer

Good morning from Bangkok – this crazy place!

Tim and I did some blogging and photo editing today. We do love good internet in the hotel! So we made the most of it.

Later in the afternoon when it was a bit cooler, we decided to check out Wat Traimit – The Temple of the Golden Buddha which was just down the road from us in Chinatown. Pristine space which houses the world's largest massive gold seated Buddha measuring nearly five meters in height and weighing five and a half tons. Big! Not too many tourists either, which is nice when visiting a place of worship. The masses of people at some of these places takes a bit away from it, so we were happy to have a different, more serene experience here.

Time for a late lunch. We consulted our guidebook (Louis Vuitton of course – actually amazing guides if you've never seen one) and our app, and nothing was close. And we really didn't feel like leaving the area. Tim spotted a little hole in the wall and we're so glad he did - one of the best street meals we've had thus far! Pork, rice, spice, beer, yum.

We headed back to the hotel and had some more down time. Too darn hot!

We found a restaurant in the LV guide that we really wanted to check out – The Never Ending Summer. Incredible. One of the top meals of the trip. Local, fresh flavors presented masterfully. And it was housed in the funky Jam Factory – a converted, raw warehouse space. LOVED. THIS is the meal to have in Thailand.

We strolled around the area by the Jam Factory for bit and enjoyed the cool breeze and river views. Bangkok – you've got it going on.

Hopped in our Uber (Thank you Uber Bangkok! Soooooo cheap. Much cheaper than taxis, which are inexpensive to begin with!) and back to our little peaceful nest of a hotel and room at the Shanghai Mansion Bangkok. Good night Bangkok – you're sure winning us over.
