Tokyo DisneySea (And Land)
The quest to see every Disney theme park in the world continues today!
Now, why you may ask did we go up to Nagano and then back down to Tokyo for the Disney parks? Well, it's a long story that involves Tim waiting in line at the Disney Store in Shinjuku five days ago as Randy finds a bathroom / the Disney Store telling Tim that Disney Sea is sold out until after we leave / Randy freaking out big time / Tim calming him down / Randy and Tim on the hunt for an internet cafe because we think we can buy the ticket online / Randy orders tickets / Randy realizes it is the day after we leave Tokyo but it was the soonest we could get tickets / Randy freaking out again / Randy trying to print non-refundable tickets from an all-Japanese internet cafe (keyboard and printer included) / Randy gets tickets / Tim and Randy are able to change our ryokan booking and move it up one day / Tim and Randy somehow have an amazing AirBnb host who lets us exchange our last night for the next night AND said host lets us leave our bags in the place when we head up to the snow monkeys / Randy and Tim win!
So, that's the story. We are here now. Time to knock off not one, but TWO, Disney theme parks in a day. But we can do it!
First stop, Tokyo DisneySea - which we have been told by many is the best and most unique Disney park in the world.
And we're off...oh wait, what's that you say? It's school holidays in Japan? Oh dear...Fast Passes full. Wait time three hours plus for many rides. Is this how the real world does Disney Theme Parks?! We must say, it was very fun to see all the school children in matching outfits galavanting around the park. And, you know what, we'll make the most of it. We weren't able to go on every ride (thank you Google and the single rider line at Indiana Jones though!), but we saw a ton and took in this beautiful park, the incredible different lands here (Little Mermaid and Aladdin lands at the top of the list), some crazy food and a lot of good ol' fashioned Disney fun made it a great day.
At around 6pm, we decided to grab some dinner in their Downtown Disney and then head over to Tokyo Disneyland for the evening. Basically the same as the other Disneylands we've been too — with the exception of the kick-ass electric parade. This is not your childhood electric parade! Can someone say LEDs????!?
We did it. Tokyo DisneySea and Tokyo Disneyland...CHECK!
M-I-C...See you real soon (in Shanghai to be exact!).
K-E-Y....Why? Because we like you.
M-O-U-S-EEEEEE.
